Born Anastasia Dextrene S. Johnson in Toronto, and raised in Gaspé and Montreal, Canada, Anastasia began developing her vocal and piano performance skills through formal training at age 3. Having accumulated numerous credits to her name, she performs regularly across North America and the Caribbean, and has made numerous television appearances. Anastasia developed a transcendent love for music at a young age. In 2008, she received the Governor General’s Award from Jamaica for excellence in the Arts and for her role in creating the now annual Music Through the Ages (Benefit) Concert. A year later, she became the first Quebec teenager to perform at Carnegie Hall, as part of the American High School Honors Performance Series program, reserved for the highest rated pre-university performers in North America.
A graduate of The Study, Marianopolis College, The University of Toronto, The American Musical & Dramatic Academy, College & Conservatory of the Performing Arts (NY/LA), New York University Tisch School of the Arts and Columbia University, Anastasia’s notable performance venues include the Duke of Edinburgh International Award Gold & Silver Gala in Montreal, Quebec, where she was accompanied by legendary jazz pianist Dr. Oliver Jones; Place-des-Arts; Montreal International Jazz Festival; Los Angeles Classic Jazz Festival; The Queen Mary Ship; Frank Sinatra’s Twin Palms Estate; CTV Atlantic, Global News Halifax, Rogers Daytime Television, CHCH Morning Live and Breakfast Television Montreal, among others.
In the summer of 2016, Anastasia released her first original single, "One Heart", on iTunes, Amazon and Spotify. Less than one year later, she obtained a music artist development deal with Grammy and award-winning producers Alex Houton and Brian Vibberts, and was featured on the release of award-winning songwriter-producer, Lynx, and Grammy award-winning songwriter-producer, GC's "Dangerous to Love" and "Dangerous to Love [Extended]". This was not to the exclusion of an acting career, as Anastasia also went on to book numerous appearances on television shows including Grown-ish, Black-ish, Scandal, Lucifer, NCIS: Los Angeles, Criminal Minds, Ballers and Brooklyn Nine Nine, before scoring a principal role as News Reporter Debra in the 2022 Nickelodeon/Paramount+ feature film remake of "Snow Day."
Alongside the success of her debut EP, "Best Life" —shortlisted at the 61st Annual Grammy Awards for Best R&B Album, with the album's debut radio single, "Shade", shortlisted for Best R&B Performance, Best R&B Song, Record of the Year and featured on Billboard — Anastasia continues to build an impressive career.
